The AI product arms race is on. Claude 3.5 Sonnet has dropped. Beyond the vastly superior name, it is as good or better than GPT-4o across the board. Artifacts is a brilliant new feature Anthropic added that let you create interactive bits of content using the GPT. The race is on, I can’t wait to see what OpenAI’s response is.

Thermodynamics have served to act as a giant, mechanical muscle capable of exponentially expanding man’s physical strength. Electromagnetics are capable of much finer grained control, especially after the advent of semiconductors. While initially weaker, electrical technology is now overtaking mechanical technology for many applications. It is going to radically change the world. Perhaps not in great ways: China is leading the world at developing these technologies; deadly mines supply the minerals in your batteries. Whatever way it goes, the future is electric.

Bad news: Summer is on. It is hot as hell outside. The US T20 World Cup team has crashed and burned after an unfortunate injury celebrating their historic advance to the world Super 8.
Good news: we have sufficient amounts first-rate international soccer to keep us busy for the next few weeks. The Euros are delivering. Team USA is looking strong in the Copa America. It is hard to catch footy noon until night, here are a few of my favorite ways to keep up between the matches I can catch.
