Google has updated NotebookLM with the ability to generate audio overviews of it’s content. The output is a two-person podcast discussing the work. It is quite entertaining to be honest.
Given how fun this was I could not help but share it. See the video for what Gemini thinks of the first 14 issues of this publication. The LLM does a very impressive job at some things — the prattle and conversation keep moving effectively. It pulls out a few bigger, recurring themes I think I have hit. On the other hand it really likes a few stories — like a single link that gets repeated a few times.
To be clear the feature is audio-only. I added the picture, the captions and the audio wave in descript because audio-only is a bit boring.
Going forward, my intent is to keep this going with quarterly “packs” of posts to see how the feature evolves and because this is cool. Let me know what you think!
